Cellulose Acetate Frames:

Why we love this material for many of our frames.

Feel:

There are so many reasons that eyeglass frames should be made from this wonderful material but our biggest love is, that they just plain feel like quality. No one likes a super light-weight(cheap), or for that matter a heavy stiff frame material, there needs to be a balance and that's were cellulose acetate excels. This material is so much nicer that nylon, or other plastic materials. The feel of the material is very different, almost soft feeling, but incredibly rugged.

Crafted, not injection molded:

This material has the ability to be translucent, but readily absorbs colors for great color throughout the material. Translated; that means your Sharpeye Shades sunglasses are gonna look rich, and brilliant for a long long time. even the more muted colors will hold their color for many years from frequent wear.

Frames that are cut from material and crafted into an amazing pair of sunglasses (not injection molded). Injection molded frames tend to be produced by the thousands and the quality control can be very spotty. Not so with cellulose acetate frames. Another big advantage of this frame material is it can be hand buffed or hand polished without loosing it's richness and color depth.

Eco Friendly, Flex

You are a recycle-er and this material is that, and much more. Its made from cotton or wood cellulose, not petroleum like other plastic frames. It's environmentally friendly and nearly always hypoallergenic. So practically no irritation to wearer's, even after long days. Sometimes, you don't even realize how comfortable they are after wearing all day and half the night.

Did we mention bend-but-not break? Well frames made from this material tend to hold their shape even under extreme wear and stress, without cracking and or distortion.
